Our History.
1970
At just 16, Paul Killen completes his apprenticeship and co-founds Killen & Reid Smash Repairs on Ohio Street.
1975
Paul and Gwen take sole ownership, purchasing the Mann Street site and renaming the business Killen’s Smash Repairs.
1980s – 1990s
The business expands steadily, with apprentices and staff staying on for decades.
2004
A major renovation transforms the site into a 3,800m² state-of-the-art facility.
2020
Killen’s is profiled in National Collision Repairer Magazine for its growth and leadership.
Today
Killen’s stands as the largest and most advanced repairer in the New England/North West region, officially certified by global manufacturers including Tesla, Jaguar, Range Rover, Subaru, and more.

Our 3,800m² purpose-built site is designed to deliver factory-standard results:
- Large workshop for general smash repairs
- Paint shop with two spray booths and multiple prep bays
- Dedicated structural repair workshop
- Aluminium repair bays to meet OEM standards
- Detailing bay for final presentation
- Secure parts storage
- Spacious, modern reception
We continually invest in technology and training to remain at the forefront of collision repair — particularly in EV systems and advanced repair techniques.
Our Team.
Killen’s employs a dedicated team of 16, including spray painters, panel beaters, estimators, a detailer, a parts processor, and administrators. Many of our staff have been with us for decades — some for over 40 years — and all take pride in the reputation for workmanship and reliability that defines Killen’s.

All repairs and refinishing are backed by our Lifetime Warranty, with paint failure covered for as long as you own the vehicle, subject to regular maintenance and care.
Our Lifetime Warranty is supported by our refinish partner, PPG, and is generally also backed by your insurer. Please refer to your individual Insurance Policy PDS for details.
Parts remain subject to the manufacturer’s warranty conditions.
